This sunset is one I happened upon while traveling along Holston Lake,
near Roan Mountain. The strip of pink in the sky was as a flame and
the water reverberated with the dusky colors of evening.

I work in a setting that is clamorous and generally full of people. As one
can imagine, this leaves little, if any, solitude or silence in which I am
able to work and create. Working on this painting was my "prescription"
for tranquility in the heart of the chaos...
