This piece was created for Brown's Elementary school. I attended a career
day at the school, and hopefully, instilled a tiny spark, for the love of
art, in just one little heart...
I took faces from the school yearbook and added the school mascot, a bobcat.
I could find no Native American children in this school. If you will
consider the broken arrow trail beneath the bobcat, you will see the native
children playing around the perimeter of the land and even a few dancing, in
the background, under the flames of evening.
I dedicate this painting to all children of Brown Elementary school and to
all Native American children living and in spirit.
