Anchorage Port: "It Beats Going to the Bars"
Metallic and Acrylic on black paper, texture gel (stucco) border, foamcore mount.

While I was living in Alaska on one particularly warm day, (one of the
three warm days one experiences in a summer, usually around the end of July),
I happened upon a dancing lady with boom box in tow, at the Port of Anchorage.
Her music echoed around the port and flowed toward the Alaska Range offshore.
I was intrigued as I approached the dancing figure. I inquired as to why she
was here at the port, dancing alone to her boom box music, and she laughingly
replied, "It beats going to the bars." So now you know.
