While on a journey through the hills and valleys of Virginia on a rainy day,
I passed this captivating house. I was the passenger on this trip. I begged
the driver to stop so I could photograph this house with all the colorful
towels hanging on the line and the blue smoke rising from the chimney.
Passed being the key word, he stopped the car and I ran, at least, a quarter
of a mile, in the rain, to (hopefully) capture what my eyes had seen. I had
no idea if the photograph would actually turn out. Amazingly, the photograph
was truly beautiful and is the inspiration for this piece.
